An Ottawa man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges in connection to a police investigation in Pembroke. Ontario Provincial Police say it conducted a drug trafficking investigation in Pembroke on Sept. 23. During the investigation, police found suspected cocaine and Dilaudid pills, a strong opioid pain medicine. Police also seized an unspecified amount of Canadian cash, OPP say. A 25-year-old from Ottawa is facing multiple charges including, possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance – cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule I substance – opioid, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000 and three counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody until his next appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke next month.
