A 55-year-old woman is being treated for life-threatening stab wounds following an incident on Rideau Street early Thursday morning. The Ottawa Police Service said emergency crews responded to a call for a stabbing at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Rideau Street, between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street. An Ottawa Paramedic Services spokesperson said the woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say one person has been arrested. “No other suspects are currently being sought by police and there is no known risk to public safety at this time,” police said. An OC Transpo bus was parked in the area blocked off by police tape and there was paramedic gear on the ground next to the bus. “There will be a significant police presence in the area throughout the day today while police continue the investigation,” police said. Rideau Street is closed between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street as Ottawa police investigate the incident. OC Transpo buses are being rerouted past the bus stops on Rideau Street and at Elgin Street and Wellington Street. This is a developing story
