Ottawa travellers will no longer be able to fly non-stop from Ottawa to Winnipeg and Fort Myers, Florida on WestJet this winter. WestJet confirmed to CTV News Ottawa it will cancel service between the Ottawa International Airport and Fort Myers and Ottawa and Winnipeg. “In response to shifting demand, WestJet has reallocated flying from some routes in favour of added connectivity and frequency for others within Canada, internationally between Canada and Europe, and between Canada and popular sun destinations where demand has held strong or increased,” WestJet said in a statement. “WestJet constantly assesses and adjusts the network schedule to fly to where guests want to go.” The WestJet flight between Ottawa and Winnipeg continues to operate this summer. Air Canada and Porter Airlines operate non-stop flights between Ottawa and Winnipeg. Porter Airlines operated a seasonal flight between Ottawa and Fort Myers last winter. Earlier this year, Porter Airlines cancelled its service between Ottawa and Las Vegas for the summer.
