The Italian Week festival wrapped up after taking over Little Italy on Preston Street this weekend. The annual festival returned for its 51st year, celebrating Italian culture, music and food along with its infamous Italian vintage car display. Joe Cotroneo, owner of Pub Italia, put his collection on full display. He says he’s been collecting for about 40 years. “A lot of them are small little mini cars, little delivery vehicles,” said Cotroneo, “I have some older Italian motorcycles. It’s a very interesting collection.” Cotroneo says he has 42 cars and 250 motorcycles in his collection. The festival drew in spectators from all over to experience Italian traditions. “It’s so beautiful. The old cars. We love old fashion cars... We love these kinds of cars. They’re amazing,” said attendee Raquel Rangel, who was visiting from Brazil. Vendors and family friendly activities filled the streets. “I’m 100 per cent Italian. Born and raised. The kids are half Italian,” said Tiziana Nannavecchia, attending with her children. “It’s who I am and who they are a little bit. I think it’s important to keep some of the heritage with them.”
