Two seriously injured in head-on crash near Findlay Creek

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Ottawa’s south end on Monday afternoon.

Ottawa paramedics say first responders were called to the intersection of Hawthorne and Leitrim roads shortly before 3 p.m.

A man and a woman in separate vehicles were transported to hospital by ambulance in serious, but stable condition, according to a paramedics spokesperson.

Hawthorne Road is currently closed between Davidson Road and Louiseize Road. Leitrim Road is closed between Hawthorne Road and Ramsayville Road.

Ottawa police are asking drivers to avoid the area as an investigation continues.
