A man is in critical condition and another was seriously hurt after a vehicle struck a barber shop in Vanier, according to Ottawa paramedics. Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps tells CTV News first responders responded to McArthur Avenue near Larouche Street at approximately 5:40 p.m. Tuesday. Deschamps says an SUV backed into the business, striking two men who were either inside or around the barber shop. CTV News Ottawa cameras at the scene found a red SUV with damage to the two-storey building nearby. One man was transported to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries and is undergoing resuscitation. The other was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, he said. Ottawa police remain on scene. McArthur Avenue is currently closed from Larouche Street to Allen Street. The public is being asked to avoid the area. This is a breaking news story.
