Police say a 34-year-old truck driver is facing several charges after a collision with an ambulance that seriously injured two paramedics in Madoc, Ont. earlier this year. Ontario Provincial Police say officers responded to a two-vehicle collision between a transport truck and an ambulance at the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 62 on Feb. 2, 2026. Police told CTV News Ottawa the ambulance was from Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services. The crash led to two paramedics being transported to the hospital. Both were later airlifted by Orgne Air ambulance to a Kingston area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, police say. The two occupants of the transport truck were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. OPP said Tuesday a 34-year-old from Milton was charged with two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm, two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and two counts of careless driving causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court in October. Madoc is located about 40 kilometres north of Belleville.
