Ontario Provincial Police say a transport truck driver was taken to the hospital to treat serious injuries following a collision on Highway 416 on Thursday. According to a statement from OPP spokesperson Erin Cranton, the collision occurred southbound on the highway near County Road 21 just before 2:30 p.m. Cranton says the collision involved a transport truck and a crash truck “associated with construction workers in the area.” Police say there were no other reported injuries. Police say an investigation is underway and Highway 416 will remain closed for several hours.
