A popular Chinese food takeout spot in Ottawa’s south end is set to close. The Ruby Inn on Bank Street has announced it will close its doors after more than 50 years. “After decades of serving this community, it is with heavy hearts that we announce Ruby Inn will be closing effective June 28,” the restaurant said in a post on its website. “Due to our lease ending, we’ve made the difficult decision to close.” The Ruby Inn first opened in 1971. “It has been a privilege to serve familiar faces and generations of families, watching children grow up and return with families of their own,” the restaurant said. “Your loyalty over the years has meant everything. Whether you’ve been coming here for decades or just discovered us recently, we are deeply thankful for every visit, every order, and every bit of support you’ve shown us.”
