Warning: Graphic content The teenager charged in connection with an attack on a girl in Quadeville, Ont., in June 2025 has pleaded guilty to a count of aggravated sexual assault. The suspect, who was a youth at the time, pleaded guilty in a Pembroke court Friday morning and the agreed statement of facts was presented to the court. The suspect was initially charged with attempted murder and sexual assault. On June 24, 2025, an eight-year-old girl was found with life-threatening injuries in the area of Quadeville Road in Quadeville, about 170 kilometres west of Ottawa. She’d been reported missing hours earlier. According to the agreed statement of facts, the suspect lured the victim into a wooded area with candy. The Crown told the court the suspect said he was “going to kill her.” The victim replied, “please don’t,” according to the agreed statement of facts. The suspect asked the victim if she wanted to have sex. She said no, according to the Crown. The suspect replied, “I’m sorry but I have to.” According to the Crown, the suspect was “holding the knife while sexually assaulting her.” The victim was carried to a different area of the brush, and the suspect fled the scene. The Crown said the victim had a deep laceration on her neck “extending from one side to the other” and had stab wounds on her abdomen. Court heard the victim spent 49 days in hospital for treatment of the severe injuries and was unable to speak for several weeks. The suspect, who cannot be named because of his age under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, will undergo an assessment before sentencing.
