It’s been a stretch of hot, humid and rainy weather in Ottawa, and while it looks like residents will get a break from the heat, relief from the rain still seems a few days away. After a string of days with temperatures hovering around 30 C, Environment Canada’s weather forecast predicts only a high of 19 C on Sunday. Showers bringing up to 30 millimetres of rain are expected throughout the day and evening, and there is a risk of thunderstorms. On Monday, there’s a chance of showers and the temperature will reach a high of 20 C. Tuesday should bring relief from the rain as Environment Canada predicts a cloudy day with a high of 21 C. Wednesday, expect a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 25 C. Hydro Ottawa restoring power after storm Hydro Ottawa says it is working to to fix the remaining power outages from the storm yesterday evening. High winds brought down trees and power lines in several parts of the city, affecting hundreds of customers. According to Hydro Ottawa’s outage map, the vast majority of outages had been restored by Sunday afternoon.
