Ottawa’s bright orange Neuron e-scooters will soon be replaced with bright green ones. Lime Canada announced its plan to acquire Neuron in a news release on Friday. Changes to phase out Neuron scooters will start in the coming months, Lime says. “This new operating agreement allows us to deepen our roots in the country to ensure that shared micromobility remains a reliable, permanent fixture of the urban transportation mix,” says Wayne Ting, the CEO of Lime. Lime scooters were part of Ottawa’s e-scooter pilot project in 2020, and they were not among the providers included when the City of Ottawa extended the program in 2024. In a statement to CTV News, Lime said they will be operating 500 e-scooters in Ottawa and aim to “build on the foundation set by Neuron, working closely with the City to provide a quality service.” According to the news release, Lime will also be taking over operations of Neuron scooters in other cities across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
