All school bus transportation across eastern Ontario has been cancelled due to the freezing rain forecast. In addition, schools in Gatineau are closed Wednesday. An orange warning – freezing rain is in effect for the national capital region, calling for between 10 and 20 millimetres of freezing rain and ice buildup over the course of the day. School buses are cancelled for the following school boards in Ottawa: All schools remain open. Renfrew County All school buses serving the Renfrew County District School Board and the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board are cancelled, according to the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium. The RCDSB and the RCCDSB say all schools are closed. Gatineau All schools are closed in the following school boards: The Western Quebec School Board says all of its schools are closed with the exception of G. Theberge in Témiscaming, Noranda School in Rouyn-Noranda, and Golden Valley School in Val d’Or, which remain open. STEO Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario says all school bus transportation for the Upper Canada District School Board and the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has been cancelled. Schools remain open.
