Travellers will soon be able to fly direct from Canada’s capital to the capital of British Columbia. Porter Airlines has announced it will launch new nonstop service between the Ottawa International Airport and the Victoria International Airport, starting May 15. Porter will offer four weekly roundtrip flights between Ottawa and Victoria, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. “Ottawa continues to be a growing market for us,” Andrew Pierce, Porter Airlines vice president of network planning and reporting, said in a statement. “This route provides more passengers the opportunity to discover Porter’s award-winning elevated economy experience. With Victoria as our latest addition, travellers now have more options to fly across the country with us.” Porter says the flight will operate on the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter Airlines says the Ottawa-Victoria route will be the 20th nonstop route out of the Ottawa International Airport. There is currently service between Toronto and Victoria, which will increase to 10 weekly round trips in May.
