A 25-year-old man is dead after his body was recovered from the Ottawa River near Britannia Beach. The Ottawa Police Service said officers responded to a call that a man had entered the water near the beach in Ottawa’s west end and had not resurfaced at approximately 7:54 p.m. on Tuesday. “Emergency responders immediately began searching the area, including the water where he had last been seen,” police said in a media release. Officers with the Ottawa Police Service’s Marine, Dive and Trails Unit located the victim in the water later in the evening, according to police. “There is no foul play or suspicious circumstances suspected,” police said.
