Two Quebec men are facing charges after police discovered 160,000 suspected methamphetamine pills during a traffic stop east of Ottawa, according to police. Ontario Provincial Police say an officer noticed a vehicle “being driven erratically” on Highway 417 near Hawkesbury shortly before 10:30 a.m. last Wednesday. “The officer stopped the car and spotted suspicious material inside,” the OPP said. “Further investigation, in conjunction with the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, resulted in a search warrant being issued, leading to the discovery of approximately 160,000 suspected methamphetamine pills.” A 30-year-old from Rawdon, Que. is facing charges of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, operation of a vehicle while prohibited under the Criminal Code, failing to comply with a probation order, Unsafe Move, driving with window coated-view obstructed and possession of unmarked cigarettes. A 31-year-old from Montreal is facing three counts of failing to comply with a probation order and one count of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
