The Ottawa Police Service says there is “no indication of criminality” after a woman was struck by a vehicle on a sidewalk in the ByWard Market Thursday evening. Emergency crews responded to a call for a single-vehicle collision on George Street near Sussex Drive at 7:15 p.m. “The vehicle left the road and struck the pedestrian on the sidewalk,” police said in a statement to CTV News Ottawa on Friday morning. “At this time, there is no indication of criminality, and the collision remains under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.” The woman was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, according to an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson. Photos from the scene showed an SUV on the sidewalk with a bicycle under the driver’s side front wheel.
