Ottawa Tourism wants ‘Heated Rivalry’ fans to experience Shane Hollander’s hometown. The organization is launching a worldwide contest for fans of ‘Heated Rivalry,’ the Bell Media production created for Crave, to visit Ottawa. “We’ll fly in a loon with a plus-one to Ottawa along with a (Heated Rivalry) inspired itinerary and more,” Ottawa Tourism said on its Instagram Story page. “It’s our biggest prize package yet.” The winner will receive a round-trip flight for two to Ottawa, a two-night stay on the Gold Floor at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and a one-night stay for two at a chalet at Parc Omega. The winner will also receive dinner for two to Dreamland Café, two passes to the Canadian Museum of Nature and a $50 gift card to Hello Dolly Pastries. ‘Heated Rivalry’ was a six-part series based on a pair of professional hockey players – Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. The show is adapted from a series of novels by Nova Scotia-based author Rachel Reid. The second season of ‘Heated Rivalry’ is rumoured to take place in Ottawa. The bio on the Ottawa Tourism Instagram account reads “Birthplace of Shane Hollander.” The Ottawa Tourism website also has a guide to Ottawa for Heated Rivalry fans, with recommendations to explore restaurants, hotels and tours. The City of Ottawa has embraced the excitement around ‘Heated Rivalry.’ Mayor Mark Sutcliffe declared January 29 ‘Shane Hollander Day,’ and the Ottawa Senators started selling ‘Heated Rivalry’ inspired Senators jerseys with the names “Hollander” and “Rozanov” on the back. Proceeds from the sale of the ‘Heated Rivalry’ Senators jerseys have been directed to Ottawa Pride Hockey. With files from CTV News national correspondent Rachel Aiello CTV News, Crave and CP24 are owned by Bell Media, which is a division of BCE.
