Ottawa to experience frigid, snowy weather with frostbite risk on Boxing Day

It will be good day to spend some time shopping indoors in Ottawa, as Boxing Day is forecasted to be cold and snowy, with a frostbite risk.

Environment Canada’s weather forecast for Friday predicts a temperature high of -14 C, with an windchill of -23 in the afternoon.

Snow is expected to begin around 3 p.m. and Environment Canada says there is a risk of frostbite today.

The overnight low is -14 C, and the evening windchill will be near -23.

Saturday’s forecast predicts a 40 per cent chance of flurries with a high of -9 C.

Sunday will also have a high of -9 C but is expected to be sunny.

Environment Canada warns of a possible strong winter storm that could impact travel beginning late Sunday evening and continuing through Monday. The forecast predicts periods of freezing rain on Monday with a high of -5 C.
