Dozens of Ottawa Titans fans traded in hockey jerseys for baseball kit and got to see a home team win on Tuesday. The Titans hosted a “Forget Brady Day” event Tuesday night, giving fans a chance to swap their Brady Tkachuk jerseys in exchange for jerseys featuring the Titans’ AJ Wright, who also wears #7. The baseball team announced the promotion after Tkachuk was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Florida Panthers in June. The former Sens captain had requested a trade, sparking anger and disappointment from many Sens fans. Ottawa Titans spokesperson Davide Disipio told CTV News Ottawa that 52 jerseys were collected on Tuesday. Each of those fans will be sent an AJ Wright jersey at a later date. Disipio said some unofficial jerseys had to be turned away. Topping off the night, the Titans beat the New Jersey Jackals 10-6 following an eight-run surge in the fifth inning.
