The Ottawa Senators announced on Friday afternoon that former Ottawa 67’s winger Graeme Clarke will be coming home following a trade with the Washington Capitals. Clarke, 24, is playing in his sixth professional season and has scored five goals and 19 assists in 50 games this season with the Hershey Bears, Washington’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate. In exchange, the Sens sent forward Wyatt Bongiovanni to Washington. Originally from Ottawa, Clarke played three seasons with the Ottawa 67’s from 2017 to 2020. He was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 2019 and played three NHL games with the Devils in the 2023-24 season. In the AHL, he has laced up for Hershey, the former Binghamton Devils, the Utica Comets, and the Iowa Wild, scoring 99 goals and 111 assists over 332 AHL games. The Senators say Clarke will be assigned to the AHL and could potentially make his Sens debut on Saturday night, when the Belleville Senators host the Utica Comets at CAA Arena.
