The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in connection with a bank robbery in Richmond. According to police, a man armed with a large knife entered a bank near the corner of Perth Street and Shea Road in Richmond at around 1:50 p.m. on March 5 and demanded cash. Staff complied and the man drove away with an undisclosed amount of money. He was driving a white Volkswagen Golf GTI, believed to be a 2022 model or newer. It had no front licence plate, police said. Police say it’s believed he was travelling south on Shea Road before arriving at the bank and left by travelling northbound. Police described the suspect as a White man with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie, a grey balaclava, blue jeans, black shoes with white soles, and a dark-coloured backpack at the time of the incident. Investigators want to hear from anyone who was driving in the area of Shea Road between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on March 5, 2026, and who may have dashcam footage.
