An Ottawa police officer is facing impaired driving charges after an off-duty incident last month. The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says Const. Mathieu Bouchard was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol over 80 mg “in an off-duty incident” on June 27. No other information was released. “While he remains on active duty, he has been reassigned to administrative duties and is not currently serving in a frontline patrol capacity,” police said in a media release. “The OPS holds all officers to a high standard of conduct, both on and off duty, and expects their actions to reflect the trust and values of the community we serve.”
