Ottawa man charged after stolen construction equipment found in vehicle

Ontario Provincial Police say a man from Ottawa is facing multiple charges after construction items reported stolen were discovered in his vehicle during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.

In a news release, OPP said officers stopped a vehicle on Main Street in the Township of Alfred-Plantagenet for a traffic violation at around 1 a.m.

During the stop, officers found copper pipes, copper wires and construction tools in the vehicle. Police say these items were reported stolen.

The man is facing multiple charges, including possession of break in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with a release.
