Patients, visitors and staff paid millions of dollars to park at Ottawa’s four hospitals last year, with parking revenues increasing for all hospitals. Financial statements show CHEO, Montfort Hospital, the Ottawa Hospital and Queensway-Carleton Hospital took in $42.9 million in revenue, up from $37 million the year before. At the Ottawa Hospital, $28 million in revenue was generated from parking at the Civic Campus, General Campus and Riverside Campus during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, up from $27.6 million during the 2024-25 fiscal year. Short-term parking rates at the Ottawa Hospital are $4.50 for 15 to 30 minutes, $8.50 for 30 minutes to one hour, $13 for one to one-and-a-half hours and a daily maximum of $16. The Ottawa Hospital also sells discounted patient and visitor parking passes, which include $56 for a seven-day pass and $40 for five non-consecutive days. The Ottawa Hospital uses parking revenues to support capital projects and improvements to parking facilities, as well as buying medical equipment. At the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, parking revenue for the 2025-26 fiscal year was $5.5 million, up from $4,887,871 in 2024-25. “Funds go toward equipment and infrastructure to support patient care,” a hospital spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa. The Queensway-Carleton Hospital charges $4.50 for 16 to 30 minutes of parking, $8.50 for 31 minutes to 60 minutes and a daily maximum of $16. There is also a five day non-consecutive days pass for $40 and a 30 non-consecutive days pass sold for $240. The Montfort Hospital collected $4,061,132 in parking revenue in 2025-26, up from $3.9 million the year before. Parking is managed by the Montfort Foundation. Parking at the Montfort Hospital costs $4 for 30 minutes and $15 for a day pass. At CHEO, $5,282,274 million in parking revenue was collected between Jan. 1, 2025 and Dec. 31, 2025, according to the CHEO Foundation’s financial statements. More than $4.4 million was paid for parking at CHEO in 2024. Parking revenues at CHEO are collected by the CHEO Foundation and distributed to the children’s hospital to support the purchase of equipment, programs, family support and research. According to the CHEO Foundation’s financial statements, $2.7 million in revenue from “parking and other” was distributed to CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and Roger Neilson Children’s Hospice in 2025. Visitors pay $4.40 for 30 minutes to park in the CHEO parking lot and garage, with a daily maximum of $15.60. A frequent user pass, valid for 15 clinical visits to CHEO, is available for $45.
