The temperature hit 35.2 C on Monday, the hottest temperature recorded in Ottawa on June 23. Ottawa Public Health warns the extreme heat can be dangerous. “Because it’s the first of the season, it takes our bodies a couple of days to adjust to this type of hot weather,” Michelle Goulet, a public health inspector with Ottawa Public Health, told CTV News Ottawa. OC Transpo has implemented speed reductions on O-Train Line 1, Line 2 and Line 4 due to the hot weather. The speed restrictions will be lifted when the temperatures drop below 30 C. Environment Canada is calling for a high of 28 C on Wednesday, before temperatures drop to 23 C on Thursday and 21 C on Friday.
