The Ottawa Charge are turning up the heat before their next matchup against the Montreal Victoire on April 3, appealing for the co-stars of the hockey drama ‘Heated Rivalry’ to make an appearance. The Charge took to Instagram Tuesday to make the official invitation. “hey @hudsonwilliamsofficial and @connorstorrieofficial, we still have some space saved for you,” the team wrote in a post on Instagram, tagging the two actors who play the central characters of the steamy hockey romance, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. The team goes on to say, “I was going to ask you, will you come to CTC on April 3,” a reference to a scene in the show where Shane Hollander, played by Williams, asks Ilya Rozanov, played by Storrie, to join him at his cottage. “Don’t go to Montreal. Come to the powerhouse we’ll have so much fun, we can have a night with all of our Charge fans together.” ‘Heated Rivalry,” a Bell Media production created by Crave, is a six-part series that follows a pair of professional hockey players. The show is adapted from a series of novels by Nova Scotia-based author Rachel Reid. The Canadian show became a global phenomenon over the holiday season after the American streaming giant HBO Max picked up the show for U.S. audiences. The invitation being made before the Ottawa-Montreal matchup likely refers to rumours that both cities will play a central role in the next season. Neither actor has commented on whether they will be attending the game. The Charge’s home game against the Victoire was originally scheduled to be played on March 11 at TD Place but was moved to April 3 at the Canadian Tire Centre. It’s the only matchup between the two teams in Ottawa for the remainder of the season. In addition to the possible celebrity appearance, the first 6,000 fans in attendance could receive a limited-edition Emily Clark bobblehead. Ottawa has largely embraced the show, where the fictional Shane Hollander is said to be from. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe declared January 29 ‘Shane Hollander Day,’ and the Ottawa Senators started selling ‘Heated Rivalry’ inspired Senators jerseys with the names “Hollander” and “Rozanov” on the back. Ottawa Tourism launched a contest last month for fans of the show, where the winner could receive a round-trip flight for two in Ottawa, a two-night stay on the Gold Floor at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier and a one-night stay for two at a chalet at Parc Omega, among other prizes.
