A curious beaver wandered into a residential neighborhood in Ottawa’s Alta Vista area on Friday morning, drawing some onlookers. The aquatic rodent was seen on Kilborn Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. The beaver eventually made its way into a shed in someone’s backyard. Ottawa Bylaw was called to help relocate the animal. “This morning, Bylaw and Regulatory Services received a request for assistance from the Ottawa Police Service for a beaver on the road in a high traffic area. Upon arrival, the Officer was able to locate the beaver in a nearby shed and safely relocate it to a more suitable environment,” said Ottawa Bylaw director Roger Chapman, in a statement to CTV News Ottawa. The beaver was released near the Rideau River, where it happily swam away.
