Ontario Provincial Police have identified two men who were shot and killed during an attempted home invasion in South Glengarry Township in eastern Ontario earlier this month. Police were called to a home on Old Highway 2, between County Road 23 and County Road 26, in South Glengarry at around 9 p.m. Feb. 2 on reports that two people had been shot. When officers arrived, they found two men dead inside. According to police, the incident began when three people tried to enter the home. They were confronted and two were shot. The third person escaped and police are still trying to find and identify him. Police identified the deceased as Eddie Alobhouet, 19, and Tristan Simard, 18. Both were residents of Saint-Jérôme, Que. The incident is believed to have been targeted and police do not suspect there is any risk to the public. The two residents of the home were not harmed during the incident but were initially arrested. They have since been released unconditionally. Police said several items, including guns, were seized from the home. The investigation remains ongoing.
