Ontario Provincial Police say a 45-year-old man was arrested Thursday night following a search for an armed robbery suspect in Pembroke. Police said a significant presence was in the area of Mackay Street near Mary Street just after 10:30 p.m., as officers searched for the suspect. He was eventually located and arrested without incident. No injuries were reported by police as a result of the alleged robbery. The 45-year-old accused is charged with armed robbery and disguise with intent. Police say he remains in custody ahead of a bail hearing. Investigators are asking residents and businesses in the area of Mackay Street and Mary Street to review any available surveillance or CCTV footage and contact the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP if they have information that may assist investigators.
