Ottawa’s upcoming Olive Garden restaurant will open at the former East Side Mario’s location on Kirkwood Avenue, the restaurant chain says. On its website, Olive Garden says its Westboro location is coming soon to 675 Kirkwood Ave., in the Hampton Park Plaza. A location in Ottawa was announced in January, along with a restaurant in Vaughan, Ont. The Italian restaurant chain is owned by the Vaughan-based Recipe Unlimited Group in Canada, which also operates other brands, including Swiss Chalet, St. Hubert, Harvey’s, Montana’s, Kelseys and East Side Mario’s. The company acquired all of Canada’s Olive Garden restaurants last year in a deal with U.S.-based Darden Restaurants. The restaurant is expected to open this summer. An exact date has yet to be announced.
