OC Transpo is rolling out late night Para Transpo service this fall. Starting September 4, Para Transpo service will be extended to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights as part of a one-year pilot project. “These new service hours will match those of O-Train Line 1 on Fridays and Saturdays,” Rick Leary, OC Transpo general manager, said in a statement., Leary notes the late night pilot is part of the transit reliability and service enhancements approved by council in June. The late-night trip must be booked for 2 a.m., with the last rural trips at 1:30 a.m. Para Transpo customers wishing to travel between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. can book their trips by calling 613 560-5000 on the previous service day. Leary says the online My Para Transpo booking platform is not available for the late-night project, adding staff are working with the vendor to introduce it in the future. The late-night Para Transpo service is one of several changes coming to OC Transpo service this fall. The transit service is also increasing frequency on O-Train Line 1 during weekdays, introducing new Express routes from Park and Rides to downtown Ottawa and Tunney’s Pasture and adjusting run times on 30 routes.
