OC Transpo says a bus that was on its way to a maintenance facility hit the side of a store at the Ottawa Train Yards on Tuesday after apparently coming loose from the tow truck that was pulling it. The double-decker bus collided with the Farm Boy store on Belfast Road at around 1:15 p.m. “A decommissioned double-decker bus appears to have come loose from a tow truck and made contact with a building while travelling on Belfast Road during transport to an OC Transpo maintenance facility,” OC Transpo spokesperson Katrina Camposarcone-Stubbs told CTV News Ottawa in an email. “An investigation is underway to determine why the bus became detached from the tow truck.” No one was reported hurt. In a statement, Farm Boy said the store remained open. “Following an incident with a transit vehicle, our Farm Boy Train Yards store at 830 Belfast Road in Ottawa remains open to customers. Thankfully, none of our customers or employees were injured,” the company said.
