An Ottawa motorcycle rider is facing charges after being caught allegedly driving on the highway at nearly 100 km/h over the speed limit. On Saturday, Ontario Provincial Police say officers stopped a 23-year-old motorcycle rider with a novice M2 driver’s licence on Highway 417. The motorcycle was clocked going 193 km/h, police say. The speed limit through the urban core of the Queensway in Ottawa is 100 km/h. The rider faces a charge of stunt driving and dangerous operation. Their motorcycle licence was suspended for 30 days and the bike was impounded for 14 days. The driver may face additional suspensions, fines, demerit points and possible jail time upon conviction. The rider is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa at a later date.
