Drivers looking to access St. Patrick Street in Ottawa’s Lowertown neighbourhood may be a little confused due to a spelling mistake on the sign. A Facebook post this weekend noted a spelling mistake on the sign to access the westbound St. Patrick Street near King Edward Avenue. “Ottawa city fix the spelling please,” said the post, with a photo of the sign reading “Rue St. Patick Street.” A CTV News Ottawa cameraman found the sign in the eastbound lanes of St. Patrick Street, east of King Edward Avenue, behind the Holiday Inn Express. The sign directing drivers to the westbound lanes of St. Patrick Street said, “Rue St. Patick Street.” CTV News Ottawa has reached out the City of Ottawa for more information. In June, an apparent translation error on posters promoting a City of Ottawa initiative is turning some heads in downtown Ottawa. Purple-coloured posters were installed to promote the City of Ottawa’s Street Seats pilot program or “Uncommon Spaces.” Several social media posts pointed out a typo on the French-language signs promoting the imitative that read “Placettes Pubiques,” missing the letter “L” in “Publiques.” With files from CTV News Ottawa’s William Eltherington
