David Brown has been acclaimed councillor in Rideau-Jock for another four years. Brown was the only candidate to register to run for councillor in the ward in Ottawa’s rural area in the 2026 municipal election. This will be Brown’s second term at Ottawa City Hall after winning the 2022 municipal election with 66.6 per cent of the vote. Residents in River ward will still be able to vote for mayor and school board trustee on Oct. 26. Rideau Jock The ward in Ottawa’s southwest end includes the communities of Richmond, Manotick, Munster, Kars, Ashton, Burritts Rapids and Goulbourn Township.
