Ontario Provincial Police say a man died following a motorcycle crash near Chesterville, Ont. on Friday. According to police, officers responded to the collision on County Road 7 near Crump Road around 3:50 p.m. OPP say their initial investigation indicates that a motorcycle “collided into the rear of a trailer being towed by a pickup truck.” The motorcycle driver, a 37-year-old man from Winchester, was airlifted by Air Ornge to the Ottawa Hospital trauma centre, where he was later pronounced deceased. Police say no other injuries were reported. County Road 7 was closed between County Road 3 and Boyne Road following the incident, but it has since reopened. Highway 401 collision Ontario Provincial Police attended a second collision in eastern Ontario on Friday, though no serious injuries were reported in the incident. According to a statement on social media from OPP, officers attended a crash between a transport truck and a passenger vehicle on Highway 401 Friday evening. The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed between County Road 5 in Mallorytown and Reynolds Road in Lansdowne as emergency crews responded to the crash, but they reopened on Friday evening.
