Did you lose an earbud case and one earbud earlier this month on St. Laurent Boulevard? Ottawa police want to talk to you. The Ottawa Police Service said in a news release Tuesday that investigators want to speak to the owner of a dark blue earbud case, with the letters ONN on the front, that is missing one earbud in connection with a homicide investigation. It is part of the investigation into the stabbing death of Justin James Weir, 55, who was killed on the morning of Oct. 2. He was found with stab wounds outside an apartment building on St. Laurent Boulevard between Brittany Drive and Montreal Road at around 6:50 a.m. that day and died in hospital. Police have yet to identify a suspect in the case. Earlier this month, investigators released an image of a person of interest detectives were seeking in the case. Police said Tuesday this person is still being sought. If you are the owner of the earbuds, or know who is, you’re asked to call the OPS Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
