Kingston police say a wanted individual has been arrested following two violent incidents in the Belle Park area. The accused was wanted on two warrants linked to separate incidents, police said. Several Kingston police units were involved in the search for the suspect. The Ottawa Police Service also offered its assistance, police said. The suspect was arrested on Sept. 3 and is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, use of a firearm to commit an indictable offence, and five counts of breach of probation. Police did not name the accused in a news release on Tuesday. “Kingston Police would like to acknowledge and thank the victims and witnesses who worked closely with investigators throughout this investigation. Their cooperation, willingness to provide information, and ongoing support of the investigative process were instrumental in advancing the investigation and helping police bring the matter before the courts,” Kingston police said. “Kingston Police would like to thank the Ottawa Police Service for their assistance throughout this investigation. The successful arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between multiple units and agencies working together to address public safety.”
