Ottawa-based Kettlemans Bagel is taking its Montreal-style bagels to Kingston, the Hamilton area and downtown Toronto. Kettlemans announced an accelerated expansion of its national franchise program on Tuesday, unveiling agreements to bring both full bakery locations and Sandwich Shops to Kingston, Ancaster, Hamilton, Barrie, and downtown Toronto. The company says the expansion of its national franchise program builds on “strong unit economics, disciplined operations, and a scalable new store format.” “Our growth is built around franchise partners,” Amer Wahab, president and Chief Operating Officer of Kettlemans, said in a statement. “We provide structured operational systems, disciplined site selection, comprehensive training, and ongoing hands-on support. Our objective is simple — create an environment where franchisees can succeed and grow with the brand.” Kettleman’s has introduced “The Sandwich Shop” to support expansion, saying it’s a “compact, capital-efficient format designed for urban and suburban markets.” “The streamlined concept focuses on premium bagel sandwiches and core menu favorites, optimized for speed, efficiency, and repeat visits.” According to Kettlemans website, there are currently eight Kettlemans locations, including four locations in Ottawa - Bank Street in the Glebe, at College Square, at Trainyards and at 710 Eagleson Road in Kanata.
