You will soon be able to get an ice cream cone from Kawartha Dairy in Orléans. Kawartha Dairy tells CTV News Ottawa it will be opening a location at 2311 St. Joseph Boulevard. “Serving up our rich and creamy premium dairy products made with fresh milk and fresh cream from Canadian farms,” the company said on Facebook. “We look forward to being part of the Orléans community soon.” There is no word on when the Kawartha Dairy will open. This will be the second location for Kawartha Dairy in Ottawa. A new drive-thru location opened last summer on Carling Avenue, near the Carlingwood Mall. Jack and Ila Crowe started Kawartha Dairy in 1937, and it remains 100 per cent Canadian owned. It is headquartered in Bobcaygeon, Ont., and has stores in Ontario and British Columbia. You can also buy Kawartha Dairy ice cream at grocery stores, including Farm Boy, Food Basics, Real Canadian Superstore and Costco. Kawartha Dairy says on its website that it gets its fresh milk and cream through the Dairy Farmers of Ontario.
