Ontario Provincial Police say an individual was arrested after wielding a fake gun in public in Quinte West on Thursday. Police say they responded to reports of an individual brandishing what appeared to be a firearm in the community of Frankford around 11 p.m. The suspect, a 34-year-old from Quinte West, was taken into custody without incident, police say. The individual is facing multiple charges, including possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. OPP Sgt. Erin Cranton says all charges are related to the imitation firearm. The accused was held for bail and was released from custody.
