‘Icicle Kick Game’: Social media reacts to snowy Canadian Premier League final in Ottawa

The Canadian Premier League final taking place in the middle of a snowstorm is being dubbed the most Canadian soccer game ever. CTV’s Josh Marano reports.

The first snowfall of the season, several centimetres of snow on the turf and the “Icicle Kick” goal was the talk of social media during the Canadian Premier League’s North Star Cup at Ottawa’s TD Place.

Atletico Ottawa beat Cavalry FC of Calgary 2-1 in extra time in a game that saw 11.7 cm of snow blanket the field.
