A section of Highway 417 near Vankleek Hill is closed to traffic due to hazardous road conditions, Ontario Provincial Police say. According to OPP, the highway is closed in both direction at County Road 34 and OPP are advising residents to avoid the route. OPP Sgt. Erin Cranton told CTV News Ottawa in an emailed statement that the road was closed due to asphalt lifting and will remain closed until repairs are completed.
