Ontario Provincial Police say a section of Highway 401 has reopened following a four-vehicle collision in Prescott on Thursday. According to a statement on social media, the collision involved two tractor trailers and two passenger vehicles. OPP Sgt. Erin Cranton said officers responded shortly before 5 p.m. In a second statement, OPP said two people were transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. The highway’s westbound lanes were closed between Edward Street and Merwin Lane for several hours following the collision, but they have since reopened.
