Thousands of people will run through the streets of Ottawa on Sunday for the Canada Army Run. The 19th edition of the Canada Army Run features a 5K, 10K and half marathon run, along with the Sergeant Major’s Challenge (5K + 10K), and the Commander’s Challenge (5K + half marathon). More than $5.6 million has been raised through the Canada Army Run to support the Canadian Armed Forces Community, including Support Our Troops and Soldier On. Here is what you need to know about the Canada Army Run on Sunday. Races Here is the schedule for Sunday’s races: Start and finish lines The start line for all races is near Ottawa City Hall on Laurier Avenue. The finish line is next to the National War Memorial on Elgin Street. Road closures There will be several road closures in downtown Ottawa, Lowertown, Rockcliffe Park and Manor Park on Sunday. The Alexandra Bridge, and sections of Queen Elizabeth Driveway, Elgin Street, Sussex Drive and the Sir-George-Etienne Cartier Parkway will be closed until 1 p.m. on Sunday. OC Transpo O-Train service will begin earlier on Sunday to help runners, spectators and volunteers get to the start line. OC Transpo says Line 1 and Line 2 will begin service on Sunday at 6 a.m. The transit service says there will be detours on the follow routes: 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19, 39, 45, 57, 61, 75, 105. The race kit includes the race bib, the Canada Army Run shirt and the Army Run race bag. The race kit pickup times are Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
