Alessia Cara, Loud, Naomi and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen will be among the special guests to appear at the Canada Day noon ceremony at Ottawa’s LeBreton Flats. Canadian Heritage announced the lineup for the noon show on July 1. It will be hosted by Julie St-Pierre and Melissa O’Neil. Canadian Heritage says the artists to perform are Alessia Cara, Loud, TOBi, Adrian Sutherland, Naomi, Éléonore Lagacé, Alicia Blore, Alexandre (Douzie) Tétrault, Deantha Edmunds and Julianna Labelle. Special guests scheduled to appear include Hansen, who was onboard the Artemis II mission, Rick Hansen, Olympic and Paralympic athletes and recipients of the Order of Canada. “To be right in the heart of the action, head to LeBreton Flats Park, where the ceremony will begin at noon (ET),” Canadian Heritage said. “It will also be broadcast live on a giant screen at the official Canada Day sites on Parliament Hill and in front of the Supreme Court of Canada building.” Last month, Canadian Heritage unveiled the lineup for the Canada Day evening show. The lineup features: Canada Day celebrations will wrap up with the Tim Hortons Canada Day fireworks at 10 p.m. “On July 1, Canadians from coast to coast to coast are invited to celebrate in their own communities, as well as in the heart of Canada’s Capital Region,” Canadian Heritage said in a statement. “Wherever we are, Canada Day remains a unique opportunity to come together, create precious memories and proudly show our colours.” Canada Day festivities will also be held on Parliament Hill, in front of the Supreme Court of Canada building and in Old Hull. The festivities on Parliament Hill include the music of the Ceremonial Guard, the Royal Canadian Air Force pipes and drums, and a demonstration by the Snowbirds from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
