Ottawa will see a break from the heat and rain this weekend after a long stretch of hotter than average temperatures. A heat warning issued earlier in the week called for dangerously hot and humid temperatures across eastern Ontario. The heat wave reached its peak with a high of 33.1 C on Thursday. Environment Canada’s forecast calls for a high of 26 C on Saturday with the humidity making it feel like 30. It will be partly cloudy tonight becoming clear later in the evening. Low of 14 C. Sunday calls for a high of 27 C and a humidex of 29. Lows will drop to 16 C overnight. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday’s forecast calls for temperatures in the high 20s and mostly sunny skies. Rain could return Thursday with a 40 per cent chance of showers and a high of 28 C. The average high for this time of year is 26 C, while the average low is 16 C.
