Gatineau police charge Ottawa man with sexual assault; other possible victims sought

Police in Gatineau, Que. have charged an Ottawa man with sexual assault and investigators believe there could be additional victims.

The alleged incidents took place between Nov. 7 and 17, 2025, and involved one or more victims between the ages of 15 and 18, according to police.

Police say the suspect contacted alleged victims via apps like SnapChat or TikTok, and then met them in various parts of Gatineau in a silver car.

Lenny Owen Mudugu, 27, of Ottawa, was arrested Tuesday and charged with sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference. He was released with conditions including not being in public areas where people under 16 might be present and not being in the presence of minors.

A photo of the accused was released, but police say his appearance may have changed.

The investigation is ongoing, and further charges could be laid, police said.
