Investigators are searching for the cause of a large fire at a house in Manotick. Smoke and flames were visible from the home on Bravar Drive Thursday evening, near the Rideau River and Long Island Road. The Ottawa Fire Services said it received multiple 911 calls at approximately 5:45 p.m., reporting a fire that had spread to the deck of the home. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames. The service initially said there were no hydrants in the area. A City of Ottawa spokesperson told CTV News Ottawa on Friday there was an error in the media release and firefighters used five active hydrants in the area to provide water. The fire was declared under control just before 10 p.m. According to Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps, paramedics responded but no injuries have been reported.
